An Illinois police detective was killed in the line of duty after responding to a report of an armed suspect who was leaving a bank, according to his department. An Oak Park police officer died Friday after a shootout on the 800 block of Lake Street. Det. Allan Reddins, 40, was killed by an armed offender, authorities said. He was sworn into service in Oak Park in May 2019.
