Bangladesh dominated day one of the first Test against Sri Lanka in Galle, reaching 292-3. Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto (136*) and veteran Mushfiqur Rahim (105*) forged a record-breaking 247-run partnership after a shaky start.

Bangladesh will tour Sri Lanka from June 17 to July 16, 2025, for an all-format cricket series that includes two Tests, three One-Day Internationals, and three Twenty20 Internationals. The tour will mark the beginning of the 2025–2027 ICC World Test Championship cycle.
