TORONTO -- Auston Matthews participated in his first full practice with the Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday and could return from an upper-body injury when they visit the Florida Panthers on Wednesday (7:30 p.m. ET; SCRIPPS, SNW, SNO, SN1).

Matthews flew to Munich, Germany to get treatment for his upper-body injury and returned to skating on Saturday.

The Toronto Maple Leafs are eagerly anticipating the return of NHL star Auston Matthews, and head coach Craig Berube has made one thing clear about the captain's comeback.

Matthews’ update undoubtedly provides welcome news for Leafs fans curious about his return. Matthews travelled to Germany for “about five days” to see a doctor to aid in his recovery. The Leafs centre described the doctor as, “Somebody that I’ve seen in the past who is very smart and has been around for a long time.”
