With prized rookie Roman Anthony struggling at the plate since arriving in the majors, Red Sox manager Alex Cora figured some playful banter was in order Monday.

The win arrived in Boston's first game since the stunning trade of All-Star slugger Rafael Devers to the San Francisco Giants. Starting pitcher Lucas Giolito was credited with the win after throwing six shutout innings.

At 21 years and 34 days old, Anthony became the youngest Red Sox player to homer since Devers, who was 20 years and 275 days old when he went deep a day after his debut in July 2017. And both long balls came in Seattle.
